BI News, Lucknow: Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that 80 percent of the farmers are in debt under the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh. Till now, it has been cheating the farmers in the name of giving them MSP and sometimes giving them respectable funds. Not a single bag of wheat has been purchased from farmers at MSP. Sugarcane farmers are worried. Farmers are living a life of misery. The BJP government has cheated the farmers. Not a single promise made to the farmers has been fulfilled. The government makes big announcements but farmers are not getting any benefit from them.
Akhilesh said that the increase in MSP price for paddy purchase from farmers is a new trick of the BJP government. When the elections came, the farmer came to his senses.
Considering the cost and production, farmers should get a profitable price of one and a half times the cost of their crop. No farmer is going to get an increase in the minimum support price. When farmers were agitating for MSP, the BJP central government was forced to withdraw three black agricultural laws after more than 700 farmers were martyred.
Akhilesh said that considering the cost and product, the input cost to the farmer has increased double. In the BJP government, the priority is the capital houses and multinational companies and not the farmers. Because of this, farmers’ crops are being sold at rates lower than the MSP. If government procurement centers are not opened, where will the purchases take place? How will farmers get minimum support price for their crops? When a farmer is not getting MSP, how will his income double?

Yadav said that the BJP government has made the lives of farmers hell by increasing the prices of diesel, petrol and agricultural equipment used in farming, due to which farmers are forced to commit suicide. The BJP government does not want the farmers to be happy. She is benefiting the capitalists by conspiring to make the farmers miserable. The BJP government should forget that the farmers will not become aware even after being cheated by it. Now consciousness is being created among the farmers also. Farmers will respond to the anti-people policies of BJP by defeating BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
