BI News,LUCKNOW: National President of Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav is hurt by the plight being done by the present government of JPNIC on the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan ji. The wreath laying program at the statue of JP located at Jaiprakash Narayan International Center (JPNIC) was pre-scheduled on October 11, 2023, which was disrupted by the government administration who locked the gate. Akhilesh Yadav, who came from socialist ideology, refused to accept this dictatorial ban. In non-violent resistance, they crossed the gate and went into the campus and garlanded the statue of JP. This incident reminded us of Jaiprakash Narayan ji who came out of Hazaribagh jail by jumping over the high wall during the Quit India Movement against the British in 1942.
It is worth remembering that on August 8, 1942, Gandhiji, while speaking on the British Quit India proposal, had called upon the countrymen to do or die. After the arrest of Gandhiji on 9 August 1942, socialist leaders Jayaprakash Narayan, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Usha Mehta, Aruna Asif Ali etc. led the freedom movement. JP, Lohia had a major role in this.
The developments in JPNIC have unquestionably established that public leader Akhilesh Yadav will not allow any conspiracy to destroy the legacy of the socialist movement to succeed. The freedom struggle is in the background of socialist ideology. Socialists have always fought for the values of the freedom movement and civil rights. Akhilesh Yadav is continuously raising his voice against the dictatorship of the ruling BJP in the country. His top priority in politics is the people. He has chosen the path of social justice to provide representation to the deprived and marginalized sections.

It is worth remembering that on the suggestion of Akhilesh Yadav, the foundation of JPNIC was laid in the presence of socialist leader George Fernandes so that the general public could become aware of JP and the movement that took place during the Emergency, but due to some reasons, the idea of an important building based on the life of Lok Nayak was not fully implemented. Could not materialize. When the Samajwadi government was formed once again in 2012, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav made the dream of JPNIC come true. This world class museum is based on the life journey of Jai Prakash Narayan ji. In which audio/video format museum of democratic struggle during freedom movement and emergency is also included.
Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has been reiterating in many public forums that it is the responsibility of the elected governments to acquaint the new generation with the entire journey of their glorious history. The life journey of countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for freedom can be known with a sense of gratitude. JPNIC is the museum of the socialist movement. It includes a rich library, a documentary on the revolution led by JP and other related artefacts.
While on one hand former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is fighting to save democracy and the Constitution, on the other hand he is struggling to save the legacy of socialist ideology. His main emphasis in his political career over the last two decades has been efforts towards building a better future for the new generation.

“बासमती पर MEP कमी की आशा, सरकार विचार कर रही है”

The seventies were a period of violation of constitutional rights against which students and youth, under the leadership of JP, realized the dream of restoring democracy. Exactly similar situations are facing the country even today. Conspiratorial efforts to end civil rights continue. The Constitution is in crisis. Reservation is being abolished. India’s diversity is under threat. In such a situation, Akhilesh Yadav has been agitating from the streets to the House to ensure that the constitutional rights are given to Dalit, backward and minority communities in proportion to their population. The demand for caste census is only for justice for the classes who have been deprived of rights over resources.
By crossing the gate of JPNIC and garlanding the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan, Akhilesh Yadav has made it clear that the path of civil disobedience as told by the socialists is open. Akhilesh Yadav will not compromise at any level to honor the heroes of socialist ideology and preserve the socialist heritage. This is a positive direction for a healthy democracy.
