Announcement: Forest Rights Committee Formed in Abuja Veer Dishom Campaign

BI News,Palamu: In alignment with the Abuja Veer Dishom Campaign 2023 proposed for forest rights, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed the formation and restructuring of Village Forest Rights Committees for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities, and Backward Classes through the Welfare Department in all districts of Jharkhand.

In this regard, DC Shashi Ranjan has issued orders for organizing and restructuring Village Forest Rights Committees at the gram panchayat level in Palamu district from October 3 to October 18, 2023. He has entrusted the entire responsibility of preparing the complete action plan, including the preparation of gram-wise lists for organizing gram sabhas and appointing supervisors, to the Block Development Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the respective block.

The DC has directed the District Forest Officer and Revenue officials to ensure the availability of all types of land records, forest maps, etc., necessary for the actions to be taken in the Village Forest Rights Committees. It is noteworthy that the formation and restructuring work of Village Forest Rights Committees at the gram level must be completed between October 3 and October 18, 2023.

He has nominated District Panchayati Raj Officer and District Welfare Officer, Palamu, as supervisors and appointed Additional Superintendent of Police, Palamu, as the nodal officer for the program. Similarly, several departmental officers have been nominated as nodal officers at the regional level.
