Former India captain Baichung Bhutia stated that although Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi are the “greatest players,” the former has more titles. Argentina is in the Copa America 2024 final, while Portugal is only able to get to the quarterfinals of the Euro Cup.
The former striker for India claimed that because both of the two iconic football players have accomplished a great deal in their careers, it is unfair to compare them.
“Both, in my opinion, are the best players. Saying that one individual is superior to another or the greatest is really unjust. Both, in my opinion, have accomplished a great deal. Indeed, Messi has won the World Cup. Although Cristiano did not win, he has demonstrated his abilities in a variety of teams and leagues throughout the globe. Therefore, I believe it is quite unfair to truly state one person is the best,” Bhutia stated to ANI.
“They’re both the best.” Messi has won competitions for his nation, thus I believe he can win Copa America. Because of this, I believe he may have an advantage over Cristiano in terms of the trophies’ worth.
The team lead by Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal’s dismal defeat to France sent them sailing out of the current Euro 2024. Portugal had a 0-0 lead throughout the whole game, but they lost 5-3 in penalties after failing to stop French players’ shots.
