BI News,New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs of India has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the establishment of a “sovereign, independent, and viable state of Palestine.” This proclamation comes as a reminder of India’s enduring commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, made the official statement on Thursday, underlining India’s consistent policy on the matter. India has consistently advocated for the resumption of direct negotiations aimed at creating a sovereign, independent, and viable Palestinian state, coexisting peacefully with Israel within secure and recognized borders.

This statement marks India’s first official response to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, triggered by rocket attacks launched by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on two separate occasions, has condemned these attacks as “terrorist acts” against Israel and expressed his support for the nation during this tumultuous period.
