BI News, Ranchi: In a significant event at Pragati Maidan, the Minister of Agriculture, Shri Badal inaugurated the Jharkhand Pavilion at the second edition of World Food India. This initiative, guided by the directives of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, aims to showcase Jharkhand’s agricultural and cooperative sector on a global platform.

The World Food India exhibition, launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, started in 2017 under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, has grown into a pivotal platform for entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the food industry. Speaking at the event, Minister emphasized the significance of this platform, where entrepreneurs from Jharkhand and across the nation can explore various food products and processing techniques.

Under the Industry-Agri coordination, young entrepreneurs are being provided with facilities to set up their units in Jharkhand. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, is committed to assisting small-scale entrepreneurs in establishing their unique identity nationally and globally. Minister Sri Badal stated that the stalls at the event displayed innovative techniques such as nitrogen packaging and dehydrated products, ensuring the safe preservation of food items for an extended period.

Moreover, Jharkhand’s Principal Secretary of Industries, Shri Jitendra Kumar Singh, announced a knowledge session scheduled for November 4. During this session, discussions on processing minor forest products like mahua and chirounji will take place, focusing on enhancing the forest produce sector in Jharkhand. Several panelists from Jharkhand will engage in discussions in Delhi, aiming to benefit the people of the state.

The Director of Industries, Shri Bhor Singh Yadav, mentioned that the exhibition would continue until November 5. He encouraged visitors from Jharkhand and other parts of the country to explore the diverse stalls representing various facets of the food processing industry. This event not only aims to familiarize the world with India’s rich food culture but also provides a suitable platform for investments and further advancements in the food processing sector.

The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Madhavi Mishra, the Managing Director of Jharkhand State Industrial Development Corporation (JSIDC), who played a significant role in coordinating the state’s participation in this prestigious event. The Jharkhand Pavilion stands as a testament to the state’s potential and commitment to promoting its agricultural and food processing industries globally.
