State-Level Swimming Competition Concludes with 29 Games in ‘Khelo Jharkhand’

BI News, Ranchi: The state-level swimming competition under the ‘Khelo Jharkhand’ initiative concluded at Veer Budhu Bhagat Stadium in Ranchi, organized by the Jharkhand Education Project Council. Dheeraj Sen Soren, State Program Officer, along with Barsha Sinha, President of Jharkhand Swimming Association, Upendra Tiwari, Secretary, and Shailendra Kumar Tiwari, Senior Vice President, awarded medals and certificates to the winners. The event also marked the conclusion of ‘Khelo Jharkhand 2023-24.’

Approximately 15,000 children from all districts participated in 29 different games across various age groups, showcasing the state’s sporting talent. The selected participants will undergo a special 21-day training camp. Notably, Jharkhand athletes secured two silver medals in wrestling and exhibited outstanding performance in under-19 football in Srinagar, reaching the knockout stage. The Judo team is set to compete in Jammu from November 15 to 19, while an under-17 yoga camp is underway at JCER campus in Tripura, with the team departing on November 19. The Education Project announced training camps for various sports starting from November 8, including football and yoga, followed by kho-kho on November 14, tennis and badminton on November 20, athletics on November 22, and volleyball on December 1. Education Secretary Ravi Kumar and State Project Director Kiran Kumari Pasi congratulated the organizers and expressed confidence in Jharkhand’s state team excelling in the upcoming National School Games, aiming for a top position in the medal tally.
