BI News,Jharkhand: Under the “Satyagraha: The March of Fact-Checking” campaign, a Media Literacy Workshop was organized for students in rural areas through the Literacy Club, imparting essential knowledge about identifying fake information. Media educator Sanjay Pandey enlightened the attending students about information literacy, emphasizing the need to discern false information amid the influx of authentic content on various social media platforms. He stressed the importance of fact-checking and encouraged everyone to verify information before sharing or believing it.
Addressing the students, Pandey highlighted the prevalence of misinformation and fake news in today’s online age. He urged everyone to stay updated and equipped with the skills to prevent the spread of misleading information. The workshop provided practical examples and tips on identifying and combating misinformation. Pandey emphasized that it is the responsibility of each individual to combat misinformation and support efforts to stop the dissemination of false news.
The students expressed gratitude for the enlightening session, stating that they had gained valuable insights into media literacy for the first time. Informative pamphlets containing crucial tips to identify fake news were distributed to all attendees, ensuring they carry forward the knowledge gained and contribute to a more informed and vigilant society.
