BI NEWS, LUCKNOW: Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that as the elections are upon us, BJP has also started remembering the people. Along with this, BJP has prepared to use its two old weapons of misleading people – false propaganda and populist announcements. Sometimes there was talk of giving cylinders on two festivals under Ujjwala scheme but nothing was done. Now, in order to mislead the public, an attempt has been made to mislead by making a new announcement of giving rebate in electricity bill for three months.

After the formation of BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, the electricity system has become completely disorganized. Power plants were built during the Samajwadi government. Not a single unit of electricity was produced during BJP rule. The BJP government has been using the electricity that was generated during the Samajwadi government. Under the Samajwadi government, reforms were made in the field of reducing line losses and in the field of transmission and distribution. New solar energy plants were installed.

Due to wrong policies during BJP rule, electricity became expensive. The sugar meters installed do not give correct readings, hence consumers have to become victims of corruption everywhere. There are also reports of running a new racket of illegal extortion. Due to expensive electricity bills, irrigation of farmers is also affected. Diesel is already expensive. The exemption which the weavers had got under the Samajwadi government was snatched away during the BJP rule.
The condition of electricity supply is such that in rural areas electricity is not available for more than 4-5 hours. Leave aside the urban areas, even in the capital Lucknow, tripping happens every now and then. The Chief Minister says that solving the problems of the people is his priority whereas the truth is that BJP rule itself is the problem. Instead of finding solutions to people’s problems, BJP increases them. Now the people themselves have made up their mind to solve their problems in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections
