BI News, New Delhi: The Inner Wheel Club of Delhi North District 301, in collaboration with Satbhrawan Senior Secondary School, recently organized a dental camp at the school’s premises located on Satbhrawan Marg, Karol Bagh, Delhi. The event was aimed at promoting oral health awareness and providing dental check-ups for students.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Inner Wheel Club’s President, Madhu Lata Gupta, and District Chairman, Dr. Urvashi Mittal, who were joined by school chairman Dharam Pal Ahuja, Principal Mrs. Rita Ranjan, and Executive Committee member Mr. Sanjeev Garg. Their collective efforts were focused on motivating the students to prioritize dental hygiene.
During the dental check-up camp, the results were nothing short of alarming. It was discovered that more than 75% of the students exhibited cavities in their teeth, a concerning revelation that highlighted a significant oral health crisis among the student population.
President Madhu Lata Gupta, deeply concerned by these findings, sought the expertise of the dental team from the Dental van of Rotary Club of Delhi Midtown RI District 3011. The consultation with the dental professionals confirmed the dire condition of many of the children’s oral health and revealed that immediate treatment was necessary for some of them.
The dental camp’s purpose, which was to create awareness about oral health and provide necessary dental care, was successfully achieved. President Madhu Lata Gupta expressed her determination to organize similar camps in other schools to address the growing oral health concerns among students.
The dental camp at Satbhrawan Senior Secondary School serves as a poignant reminder of the need to prioritize oral health education and access to dental care, particularly among school-going children. The Inner Wheel Club’s dedication to this cause ensures that more children will receive the care and information they need to maintain healthy smiles and overall well-being in the future.
