BI News, Ranchi: In a significant move, the state government has decided to waive off application fees for competitive exams conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). Chief Minister Hemant Soren made this announcement following discussions with tribal student organizations and activists.

During the meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, tribal students expressed their gratitude towards the government for reconsidering the fees imposed during the Bharat Bandh protests in 2018. Chief Minister Hemant Soren commended the students’ spirit and assured them of the government’s unwavering support.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Soren reminisced about the state’s struggle for separate statehood and acknowledged the sacrifices made by thousands of people. He emphasized that despite achieving statehood, the rights of tribal and indigenous people were often ignored. However, under his government’s leadership, efforts are being made to empower tribal communities and ensure their rights and dignity.
Chief Minister Soren also warned against groups attempting to mislead tribal communities and influence government policies. He urged all individuals working in various sectors to empathetically understand the sentiments of tribal and indigenous people.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s initiatives to provide employment opportunities on a large scale, both in the public and private sectors. He assured transparency in the recruitment process and emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for everyone.

Additionally, Chief Minister Soren mentioned ongoing efforts to improve facilities in hostels, especially for tribal students.
