Haryana Receives National Award for Outstanding Performance in Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

BI News, New Delhi: Haryana, with its remarkable performance during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, has secured the third position in the nation and received the prestigious National Award. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi presented this award during the closing ceremony of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Amrit Kalash Yatra held in New Delhi today.

A jury convened to select the best-performing States and Union Territories recognized Haryana as the third-best performing state in the country. The Information, Public Relations, and Language Department (IPRL) of Haryana played a pivotal role as the nodal department in coordinating the various programs conducted during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal congratulated the IPRL department for their significant contribution to this achievement. He emphasized the department’s role in facilitating government policies and programs, stating that their commendable cooperation extended to the implementation of numerous programs and schemes.

Chief Secretary Shri Sanjeev Kaushal received the award on behalf of the state, highlighting the significance of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a two-year nationwide celebration marking India’s 75th anniversary of independence. He credited Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal’s dynamic leadership for the multitude of programs conducted in Haryana during this historic celebration, spanning from March 12, 2021, to October 31, 2023.

The Director General of the Information, Public Relations, and Language Department, Dr. Amit Aggarwal, provided insights into the various programs organized under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. More than 51,000 programs were conducted, with detailed information available on the dedicated Mahotsav website, showcasing the state’s rich contributions to the celebration of India’s 75 years of independence.

Notable achievements during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in Haryana included the hoisting of the tricolor at every house, installation of shila pattikas in villages and municipal bodies, and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, resulting in the hoisting of millions of flags on houses.

Haryana also made a mark with the Gita Mahotsav, achieving four new records in Surya Namaskar, including the Guinness World Record, World Book of Records London, Amazing Olympia World Record, and Golden Book of World Records. This initiative aimed to convey the importance of preserving India’s culture and heritage to the people during this momentous occasion.

In addition to these achievements, five special books were published during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, and a tree plantation campaign was initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal. This campaign not only raised awareness about tree planting but also led to the establishment of Amrit Vatikas dedicated to the memory of martyrs, contributing to a sustainable future for the state.
