BI News, Ranchi: : In a concerning revelation, private hospitals in the state of Jharkhand lack proper monitoring systems. To address this issue, the establishment of helpdesks in hospitals has become imperative. Negligence of the state government towards improving healthcare facilities, especially for the middle-class population, where bearing medical expenses is a significant challenge. Despite the government’s promises to enhance healthcare services, the ground reality remains grim. Patients admitted to private hospitals often face unregulated billing practices, leading to financial strain.

In this dire situation, patients who are unable to afford private hospital expenses are compelled to seek treatment elsewhere. The absence of a helpdesk at RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) further exacerbates the problem, forcing patients to opt for private hospitals. This situation not only affects their finances but also exposes them to unprofessional behavior from hospital staff.

Despite the increasing number of critical patients, the state’s healthcare system in government hospitals operates at a snail’s pace. Urgent steps, such as implementing an online appointment system and establishing a dedicated helpdesk connected directly to the Chief Minister’s office, are essential. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, must act promptly to streamline the healthcare system, ensuring immediate and efficient medical services for all citizens.

Time is of the essence, and the government must take proactive measures to set up helpdesks in both public and private hospitals, providing a model for other states to follow.
