Putin Condemns Gaza Hospital Strike, Urges Negotiations

0

BI News, Agencies: Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 18 that a strike on a hospital in Gaza that killed hundreds of Palestinians was a terrible catastrophe that showed the conflict should be ended.

Palestinian officials blamed an Israeli air strike for the blast at the Al-Ahli al-Arabi hospital, which it said had killed as many as 500 people. Israel said the blast was caused by a failed rocket launch by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group, which denied blame.

Russia, which has relationships with Iran, Hamas, major Arab powers as well as with the Palestinians and with Israel, has repeatedly said the United States and the West have ignored the need for an independent Palestinian state within 1967 borders.

Putin on Monday spoke to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In those talks, Putin said he had formed the impression that no major players wanted the conflict to escalate.

BI News, Lucknow: Om Prakash Rajbhar, national president of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, made his power felt. On Wednesday, zonal coordinator of Bahujan Samaj Party Fagu Singh Chauhan joined Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party on Wednesday. He took membership of the party in Mau. Similarly, National General Secretary of Scheduled Cell of Apna Dal SK, Avnish Gautam also joined SubhaSP. Former minister Syed Shakeel of Rashtriya Lok Dal and Pankajnath of Hindu Mahasabha also took membership of SubhaSP. Om Prakash Rajbhar’s SubhaSP is a part of NDA.
On the other hand, speculations are being made that if the cabinet expansion takes place in UP, Rajbhar can be included in the cabinet. It is being said that he can be made a minister when the cabinet is expanded in the state. In this regard, when he was asked on Wednesday that today is the fourth day of Navratri, when is he becoming a minister? So he replied that the oath will be taken soon. When is Vijayadashami, be patient!

Taking aim at SP, he said that SP is working to defeat Congress in Madhya Pradesh. SP is the B team of BJP. SP is contesting elections in MP only to make BJP win. On the question of Congress and SP demanding caste census, Rajbhar said that SubhaSP has been demanding the same for the last 20 years. SP gave nothing but hatred to Muslims. Modi-Yogi are providing benefits of schemes to all the citizens of the country and state without any discrimination.
Rajbhar said that UP Congress, BSP and SP have all been defeated. PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) has come to NDA. Anupriya Patel, Sanjay Nishad and Keshav Prasad Maurya are all PDAs. He alleged that SP, Congress and BSP did not give share to Muslims in the recruitment of police and accountants. The opposition talks about social justice but when the government is formed, the focus is only on the family. Caste and religion are not considered in providing benefits of schemes made by BJP. There was not a single riot during the Yogi government. Due to the fear of ED and CBI, the opposition people are united and trying to form the government.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sends Mahua Moitra Complaint to Ethics Panel

0

BI News, New Delhi : Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has referred BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s “bribe-for-query” complaint against Trinamool Congress member Mahua Moitra to the Ethics Committee of the lower House.
Dubey has accused Moitra of taking “bribes” from a businessman to ask questions in Parliament and urged Birla to constitute an “inquiry committee” to look into the charges against her.
Moitra has hit back, saying she “welcomes any move against her after the Lok Sabha Speaker is finished dealing with pending charges against him (Dubey)”.

The Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha is chaired by BJP member Vinod Kumar Sonkar.
On Sunday, Dubey wrote to Birla under the subject “Re-emergence of nasty ‘Cash for Query’ in Parliament, Direct involvement of Smt. Mahua Moitra, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) for serious ‘Breach of Privilege’, ‘Contempt of the House’ and a ‘Criminal Offence’ under Section 120-A of IPC”.
Citing a letter he has received from advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, , Dubey said the lawyer had “shared irrefutable evidence of bribes exchanged” between Moitra and Darshan Hiranandani”. The Hiranandani Group has denied the allegations.
In his letter to the speaker, Dubey said 50 of 61 questions she asked in Lok Sabha till recently were focused on the Adani Group, the business conglomerate which the TMC MP has often accused of malpractices, more so after it was at the receiving end of a critical report of short-selling from Hindenburg.

The Hiranandani Group had lost energy and infra contracts to the Adani Group and Moitra’s questions were directed at perpetuating the business interests of the former, Dubey indicated in his letter.
Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar called the allegations “shocking”. Dubey had also written to Chandrasekhar and Union IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw demanding an inquiry committee. Chandrasekhar said that the alleged sharing of Moitra’s Lok Sabha credentials with an external entity “poses a direct threat to national security.”

Biden’s Israel Visit Amid Deepening Gaza Crisis Today

0

BI News, Agencies : Amid Tel Aviv-Hamas conflict spiraling into a broader regional conflagration, the US President Biden plans to visit Israel on Wednesday. Secretary of State Antony J Blinken announced this decision in Jerusalem, setting up a high-stakes trip in which the American leader will try to forestall a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza while also preventing the war between Israel and Hamas from spreading. Biden’s visit underscores the U.S.’s commitment to Israel, with the administration pledging military assistance and seeking congressional approval for additional aid to both Israel and Ukraine. The announcement follows extensive talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials.

Biden will also visit Jordan, where he plans to meet with Jordanian King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has endured Israeli airstrikes that have killed more than 2,700 Palestinians.
Hamas has taken scores of hostages into Gaza, including an unknown number of Americans. Biden will work to get as much information about the hostage situation as possible during his trip, White House spokesman John Kirby said in a briefing with reporters.
Kirby emphasized that the United States had not sought assurances that Israel would not launch its ground invasion while Biden was visiting the country. “We’re not dictating terms or operational directions to the Israelis,” Kirby said. “We don’t want to see escalation. We want to make sure humanitarian assistance begins to flow.”
Still, U.S. officials waited to announce Biden’s travel to Israel on Monday night until they received commitments from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a humanitarian package, according to two US officials familiar with the discussions. Secretary of State Antony Blinken received assurances during a marathon meeting in Tel Aviv this week and then made the announcement that Biden would be visiting.

“Biden’s Israel Visit Today Amid Escalating Gaza Crisis”

During the 7½-hour meeting, Israeli and U.S. officials set up separate rooms and passed papers between the two sides, negotiating over humanitarian issues including getting aid into Gaza and creating safe zones for Palestinian civilians, said a State Department official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive discussions.
Though Blinken hailed an agreement on humanitarian issues, his announcement included few details, probably an indication that differences remain between the two allies. The provision of humanitarian aid is sensitive in Israel, especially among far-right politicians tied to Netanyahu who have pressed him to wage a scorched-earth campaign in Gaza in response to the terrorist attack.
The White House is deeply concerned about the conflict spiraling into a broader regional conflagration, and Biden has warned other actors, particularly Iran, not to jump in. His visit to Israel could underline that message.

Officials are also worried that anger in Arab countries, where many citizens have deep sympathy for the Palestinian cause, could boil over and create pressure for their leaders to take action against Israel.
Biden spoke with Sisi on Monday, the White House said, and the two discussed “ongoing efforts to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, in coordination with the U.N., Jordan, the Palestinian Authority, Israel, and other regional partners.”

“Putin Advocates Dialogue in Conversations with Israeli, Arab, and Iranian Leaders”
