BI News,India:It’s Voting time in tiny remote state of North East Mizoram. Forty members state assembly’s election scheduled for November 7 and December 3- the result day will see the plenty of drama. For the first time since 1989, Mizoram election has a new player, the Zoram People’s Movement, challenging Congress and MNF bipolarity. In upcoming elections, Mizo people will see a new CM aspirant in the reckoning. For three decades, the chief ministership baton has been passed between the two leaders – the Congress chief Lal Thanhawla MNF’s incumbent CM Zoramthanga.

This time around, there is a new formidable contender for CM post in Zoram People’s Movement leader Lalduhoma, a former IPS officer who was first elected an MP in 1984. ZPM promises ‘change’ something young Mizos yearn for. Founded In 2017, the Zoram People’s Movement surprised all by winning 8 seats in the 2018 assembly elections, all the nominees contrasted as independents. Formed as coalition of various parties, it registered a grand victory in a civic poll a few months ago. Despite some rumblings in top leadership, there is opportunity for the new party.

As for as ruling party MNF is concerned, there is a strong incumbency against the CM Zoramthanga. As MNF boss has done little to impress people. The state is reeling under heavy debt along with several developmental projects lying stalled, but Zoramthanga is busy in keeping workers and leaders happy. But despite all his complacency, MNF is still a potent force. Around this time, there is a new face leading the Congress, the former finance minister Lalsawta. He is supposed to be a tough person from Congress side. The grand old party is banking on it’s new president. Congress is wooing farmers and common man with promise of eradicating culture of corruption. Lalsawta has a clean image so Congress is saying, public money is safe in his hand and he is the best bet to improve the state finances. In this election corruption is a big issue in Mizoram. Be it Congress or ZPM, their common target is Zoramthanga. Both the party accuses MNF leader of spreading a rule of corruption and loot.

BI News, Lucknow: Today in all the districts of the state including the capital Lucknow, socialist leader and thinker Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia was paid homage to him on his death anniversary. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav paid floral tributes at the statue of Dr. Lohia at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park in Gomtinagar, Lucknow.
Akhilesh Yadav, while paying heartfelt tribute to the brilliant thinker, freedom fighter and pioneer of socialist ideology Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his 56th death anniversary, said that Lohia ji’s ideology will always remain relevant. Adopting his concept of ‘Saptakranti’ against social injustice and inequality, Samajwadi Party is determined to spread his ideas to the people.

National General Secretary of Samajwadi Party Shivpal Singh Yadav, former leader of opposition state assembly Ram Govind Chaudhary, National Secretary Rajendra Chaudhary, State President Naresh Uttam Patel and former minister and MLA Awadhesh Prasad also paid tribute to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia. On this occasion, senior party leaders, officials and officials of frontal organizations were present in large numbers. BI News,Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated a series of initiatives under the Panchayati Raj Department in a virtual ceremony held at “Sankalp,” 1 Anne Marg. Among the projects, the foundation stone for 2,000 Panchayat government buildings with an estimated cost of Rs 4,171 crore was laid, marking a momentous commitment to rural development.

During the virtual event, the Chief Minister also virtually distributed appointment letters to 366 newly appointed auditors and launched the e-Panchayat portal. Furthermore, he inaugurated the plumbing training program for 9,500 maintainers under the Chief Minister Rural Drinking Water Nishchay Yojana.

Addressing the audience, Nitish Kumar expressed his congratulations to everyone involved in these endeavors and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the Panchayati Raj Department. He emphasized the importance of the Panchayat and the respect it deserves, underscoring the government’s commitment to building sustainable Panchayat government infrastructure.

Kumar stated, “Construction of 1,517 Panchayat government buildings has been completed, and work on 857 more is ongoing. The World Bank has extended its support by offering assistance for 330 more such buildings, and we’ve now initiated the construction of 2,000 new ones. I urge swift site selection and construction commencement for the remaining 3,683 Panchayat government buildings, aiming to complete them by 2024.”

The Chief Minister also encouraged the use of solar panels on Panchayat government building roofs, underlining the significance of promoting solar energy, which he considers a sustainable energy source.

Highlighting Bihar’s development achievements, Kumar mentioned substantial progress in infrastructure, transportation, electricity, water supply, education, and healthcare. He elaborated on the state’s evolution and praised the self-help groups, particularly Jeevika Didis, that have significantly contributed to women’s empowerment.

Nitish Kumar concluded by emphasizing the government’s dedication to providing efficient services to Panchayat representatives and highlighted the importance of leveraging technology for governance and transparency.
